How I Like to Spend My New Year's Eve

How I Like to Spend My New Year's Eve

There are a handful of times in each year that are particularly powerful moments for reflection and manifestation: full and new moons, birthdays, and, of course, New Year’s Eve! During these times, I like to slow down and take time to connect with where I’ve been, where I am at, and where I hope to go.

This New Years Eve, instead of hitting a club, I will be spending time with my loved ones, celebrating the beautiful, crazy, magical experiences that life has brought us over the past year. We will go to my parent’s house and watch the last sunset of the year. We will talk about all of our favorite memories from the last 12 months, our accomplishments and the challenges we have overcome, and acknowledge the ways we have grown. I will prepare some yummy, healthy treats for us like some almond pate, my Colorful Quinoa Salad, a plate of our favorite seasonal fruits and veggies, and something sweet, like my Paleo Thin Mints or my Wintergreen Cacao Bark

Once the kids are in bed, we’ll have a glass of champagne or my favorite Blackberry Bellini and talk about our intentions for the year ahead. I absolutely love doing this, because it is my opportunity to really dream big! There are so many things I want to accomplish every year, both internally and externally, and I like to set really specific goals for positive shifts or growth that I’d like to see in myself, my relationships, and in the company I built from all of my greatest passions, The Philosophie. I believe that staying aligned with your truth and the things that bring you the most joy is a constant process and it is so important to stop every so often and tune in to yourself, how you feel, and what is or isn’t adding positivity to your life.

Setting intentions for achieving your dreams is something that you can do at any time, too! So, even if your plans for New Year’s Eve might not involve a quieter time to reflect, I highly recommend setting aside some time around the New Year to do so. I like to write my goals and intentions directly into my 2015 Move Nourish Believe Diary, so that I can check in with them on a daily basis. It’s such an incredibly powerful way to get in touch with your truest self and, by the end of the year ahead, you might be amazed at how many of your dreams you were able to manifest!
